There is no specific information on the state’s progress in adopting mDLs; however, Greenville News touches on what spokesperson for the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles named Lauren Phillips said regarding the matter: “The state House of Representatives approved, and the Senate Finance Committee concurred with a proviso to study the topic and its adoption in the state. The proviso calls for the DMV to lead a study committee that will make recommendations on implementing and accepting mobile identities in South Carolina.”
