The Thales AT9000 device is a full page passport and document scanner with a large, flatbed surface. It is capable of scanning IDs and passports in multiple wavelengths of light to perform ID authentication. The AT9000 has been sunset by the manufacturer as of December 2022. It is superseded by the Thales AT10K document scanner.

Can the Thales AT9000 scan passports?


Yes. The flatbed surface allows for passports to be placed on the scanner and authenticated. It is also capable of scanning drivers licenses, state ID cards, passport cards, and smaller identity documents.

 

Do I have to flip the ID to read both sides using the Thales AT9000?


Yes. You will need to manually flip the ID in order for the machine to read both sides for the purpose of ID authentication. You will not need to flip a passport.

 

Does the Thales AT9000 work offline?


The Thales AT9000 does not require internet access to scan IDs. However, the particular software you are using may require online connectivity. Both VeriScan ID Scanning & Visitor Management software, and ParseLink Data Automation software work offline. 

If you are using software other than VeriScan or ParseLink, you will need to consult your software vendor to determine offline functionality.

 

What kind of computer do I need to use the Thales AT9000?


Any computer capable of running Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10.

Does the Thales AT9000 work with Mac OS?


No. The Thales AT9000 is only compatible with Windows OS.

 

Do I need software for the Thales AT9000 to work?


Yes. We are providers of VeriScan and ParseLink solutions which are compatible with the Thales AT9000. The scanner is also compatible with other software, not provided by IDScan.net. Contact your software provider to confirm compatibility and functionality.

 

How does the Thales AT9000 authenticate IDs?


The Thales AT9000 is a forensic document reader, which uses three light (white light, ultraviolet, infrared) to analyze documents. It also has multiple cameras to perform simultaneous six image capture, allowing for comparison to ID templates at the pixel level. 

In order to authenticate IDs, you will need to pair the Thales AT9000 with software such as VeriScan ID Authentication.

 

How is the Thales AT9000 powered?


The Thales AT9000 is powered via a cord that plugs into a standard electrical outlet.

 

What do I use to clean the Thales AT9000?


We recommend cleaning the glass with either a microfiber cloth or another non-abrasive material.

 

Is the glass on Thales AT9000 scratch resistant?


No.

 

Does the Thales AT9000 have image capture?


Yes. The Thales AT9000 can capture images of the ID, or a cropped ID photo.
