Data privacy laws in Indiana
Indiana was the seventh state to enact comprehensive data privacy legislation. The Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (INCDPA) allows consumers to correct inaccuracies in their data, opt out of their data being sold or used for advertising, confirm whether a controller is processing their data and access that data, and request the deletion of their data. INCDPA does not apply to government organizations or third parties thereof, financial institutions, HIPAA-regulated entities, or nonprofit organizations.
