The 7017 will no longer be compatible with the latest versions of VeriScan, ParseLink
The Regula 7017 was launched in 2016 as a flatbed ID and passport reader, compatible with Regula’s 4.0 SDK. However, effective immediately, IDScan.net will no longer be supporting the Regula 7017.
What does this mean for existing customers of the Regula 7017?
For current ParseLink or VeriScan customers, you may continue using the software with the Regula 7017 for the remainder of your current billing cycle. We do not recommend updating your software to the latest version, as the compatibility between the device and the software may break.
- ParseLink: remain on versions below 2.21
- VeriScan: remain on existing version. Do not enabled automatic updates.
If you’d like to continue using ParseLink, you may shop Windows-compatible devices in our store. Contact your Account Representative for a discount code to receive 15% off your new ID and passport scanner.
Recommended alternatives to the Regula 7017
Recommended products
Both the Thales QS2000 and the Thales 10K offer full page ID and passport reading, automatic image capture, and OCR. The Thales AT10K is ID authentication capable, as it contains both ultraviolet and infrared image capture in addition to white light support.
If you decide you’d like to move to another ID scanning provider, you may elect to cancel your ParseLink subscription by visiting the cloud portal and following the instructions here. You may be able to work with the manufacturer to get access to an SDK that can perform similar functions to ParseLink. Or you may find other suitable ID scanning software that is compatible with the device.
As always, feel free to Contact Us if you have questions.
