Wisconsin remains one of the few states with no plans to implement a mobile ID. Hopefully as mobile ID use grows, they will consider an mDL.

The Washington D.C. mDL program has been legal since 2022, but as of March 2025, there is still no timeline for an active D.C. mobile ID.

Michigan introduced SB 460 in late 2023 which would have allowed for the creation of a mobile ID. It has since died in committee.

In February 2024, Kansas introduced a mobile ID bill. By April 2024, the bill died in committee. It is unclear if they will reintroduce it.
