In 2020, the Puerto Rico Department of Transportation and Public Works announced the addition of a digital ID to their CESCO Digital mobile app.
As of December 2024, the Puerto Rico Apple Wallet ID has officially gone live. Puerto Rico residents can now add their digital ID to the Apple Wallet on their iPhone and Apple Watch.

To present your ID during the security checkpoint, passengers simply need to tap their iPhone or Apple Watch and the ID will show up in the same section where you can already store credit cards, tickets, etc. (your Apple Wallet). Passengers can just hold the phone or watch near the TSA’s Credential Authentication Technology reader and the encrypted data will be read and transmitted to the TSA agent for quick, secure identification.
All that being said, you should still carry your physical ID for now during your travels, and during your other adventures around Puerto Rico. Currently law enforcement may not accept the Puerto Rico Mobile ID, and local establishments may or may not be aware of how to use/process the new ID format.
To get your Puerto Rico Mobile ID set up, you must first make sure you meet the technical requirements of an iPhone 8 or newer, and an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer. You must also have the latest iOS versions downloaded for both your phone and watch, two-factor authentication must be on, and you must be signed in with your Apple ID with your location set. Your physical ID card should also be clear and easily readable. If you meet the aforementioned requirements, Puerto Ricans can add the new Mobile ID by tapping the plus (+) button at the top right corner of the wallet app. From there, scan your Puerto Rico ID, take a series of photos so that your identity can be verified, then submit your Mobile ID for verification. Once the state approves the ID, it will be added to your Apple Wallet.
En 2020, el Departamento de Transporte y Obras Públicas de Puerto Rico anunció el lanzamiento de una identificación digital en su aplicación móvil CESCO.
Desde diciembre de 2024, los residentes de Puerto Rico ya pueden agregar su identificación digital a Apple Wallet en su iPhone y Apple Watch.
Para presentar su identificación durante el control de seguridad, los pasajeros simplemente deben tocar su iPhone o Apple Watch y la identificación aparecerá en la misma sección donde ya puede guardar tarjetas de crédito, boletos, etc. (su Apple Wallet). Los pasajeros pueden simplemente sostener el teléfono o acercar su Apple Watch al lector de autenticación de credenciales de la TSA y los datos cifrados se leerán y transmitirán al agente de la TSA para una identificación rápida y segura.
Dicho todo esto, aún debe llevar con usted su identificación física durante sus viajes y sus traslados. A día de hoy, las autoridades policiales no tienen la obligación de aceptar la identificación móvil de Puerto Rico, y los establecimientos locales pueden o no saber cómo usar/procesar el nuevo formato de identificación.
Para configurar su Puerto Rico Mobile ID, primero debe asegurarse de cumplir con los requisitos técnicos de un iPhone 8 o superior y un Apple Watch Series 4 o superior. También debe tener descargadas las últimas versiones de iOS tanto para su teléfono como para su reloj, la autenticación de dos factores debe estar activada y debe iniciar sesión con su ID de Apple con su ubicación configurada. Su tarjeta de identificación física también debe ser clara y fácilmente legible. Si cumple con los requisitos antes mencionados, los puertorriqueños pueden agregar la nueva ID móvil tocando el botón más (+) en la esquina superior derecha de la aplicación de billetera. Desde allí, escanee su identificación de Puerto Rico, tome una serie de fotografías para que se pueda verificar su identidad y luego envíe su identificación móvil para su verificación. Una vez que el estado apruebe la identificación, esta se agregará a su Apple Wallet.
