State of Michigan mobile ID
Introduced by Senator Sarah Anthony, Senate Bill 460 would allow for the creation of a Michigan digital ID. It was initially introduced in July of 2023. It passed the Senate and was referred to the House for further evaluation. It seems the bill has since died in committee.
While the initial legislation died, Senator Anthony remains committed to implementing a digital ID for Michigan residents, so we expect updated versions of an mDL bill to surface in the near future, especially as mDL adoption continues to increase across states.
