Mobile ID rollout and adoption in Colorado
Colorado offers mobile IDs through multiple wallets:
- Colorado ID in Apple Wallet
- Colorado ID in Google Wallet
- Colorado ID in Samsung Wallet
- Colorado ID in myColorado App
Since the release, over 1.5 million residents have residents have added the myColorado App to their phones. It is worth noting, the versions work in tandem with each other.
Where can the Colorado mobile ID be used?
The Colorado mobile ID is accepted at participating TSAs around the country.
The Colorado mobile ID provided through the myColorado App is a statewide accepted replacement for your physical ID card. It stores information such as driver’s license number, vaccine status, fishing license, and more.
The Apple, Samsung, and Google Wallet versions are not sufficient as physical ID replacements.
How can businesses read/verify Colorado mobile IDs?
Colorado has built scanning capabilities into the myColorado App. The Mobile Driver License (mDL) Reader allows you to verify a person’s age via their mDL in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Samsung Wallet, and other wallets.
