IDScan.net and Panasonic have entered into an exclusive partnership to bring the future of mobile ID scanning to the casino industry by pairing IDScan.net’s software with Panasonic’s TOUGHBOOK hardware. It is the only rugged handheld solution on the market capable of scanning government-issued IDs as well as passports from virtually anywhere in the world. The versatile mobile solution offers casinos a spectrum of use applications, including visitor management, age verification, guest control, group classification, loyalty program enrollment, and fraud reduction in cage operations.

“We are thrilled to offer our experience in ID parsing and verification for casinos, paired with Panasonic’s more than 100 years of experience in electronics technologies,” said Denis Petrov, the CEO of IDScan.net. “Working with some of the biggest names in gaming across the country and along the Las Vegas Strip, we know that being compliant while delivering an exceptional customer experience is paramount. Our new mobile solution makes visitor management quick and easy for both casino guests, vendors, and staff.”

The solution pairs Panasonic’s TOUGHBOOK mobile scanners, both the N1 and the new lighter weight T1, with IDScan.net’s popular ID scanning software. The solution allows users to scan the 2D bar code found on most North American IDs, along with the machine readable zone (MRZ) found on passports and other international IDs. This unique pairing of hardware and software allows users to verify age, check if the ID is real, and collect data off of the ID to populate forms for check-in.

“We’re excited to offer casino’s a new mobile solution, based on forty years of hand-held communications technology leadership, that is both lightweight and rugged. It means staff can check in visitors from any location while storing the data in a centralized, secure cloud-based dashboard provided by IDScan.net,” said Jim Dempsey, Director of Channels at Panasonic.

Available as an off-the-shelf product and as an enterprise solution, the technology is completely customizable. It can be paired with a variety of added layers of identity verification, including facial recognition and the ability to run IDs against internal and external lists, such as a casino’s banned individuals, Self-Exclusion, OFAC, and more. IDScan.net’s solutions are IGT certified and are compatible with Aristocrat, Scientific Games, Everi, and other platforms.

The new solution will be unveiled at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) on October 14-17 in Las Vegas.
