New data from IDScan.net, revealed alarming levels of ID fraud within the cargo and logistics industry, outpacing that of U.S. bars and nightclubs by as much as 4.5 times.
“Most people associate fake IDs with underage drinking, but the reality is far more concerning in industries like cargo and logistics, where fraudulent IDs can enable access to high-value goods and restricted areas. The implications are serious-from theft and loss prevention, to national security risks,” says Jimmy Roussel, CEO at IDScan.net. “While hospitality venues such as bars and nightclubs are increasingly adopting advanced ID scanners and fake ID detection technology, many logistics firms still rely on manual checks, paper logs, or outdated systems. It is this gap that is creating an opportunity for bad actors to exploit.”
