The QS2000 by Thales has taken the technology to the next level, all while making the device sleek and more affordable than ever before. The scanner’s compact size and contemporary design makes fast data capture easy and accessible.
About the QS2000
The QS2000 is the go-to passport scanner for any commercial business. This scanner can read any passport, capture data from drivers licenses, electronic travel and identity documents quickly and reliably.
The QS2000 combines three operations into one device.
- It reads the MRZ (machine readable zone) code found on any international passport.
- It provides imaging capabilities to help keep a copy of identification on file.
- Reads 2D barcodes including all USA and Canada driver’s licenses issued.
This scanner is key to age verification and customer onboarding processes. This scanner would be a great fit for businesses such as hotels, casinos, liquor stores, bars, and rental car companies.
The QS2000 can read multiple document types and capture their images in 24-bit color. The device also has 400 DPI high resolution imaging and complete access to OCR data and images captured via SDK. The scanner enables images to be accessed as a BMP, PNG, or JPEG format. The QS2000 has auto-triggering of document capture once the presence of a document is detected. The rugged design has no moving parts, and an internally sealed optical chamber prevents dust ingress overtime. The scanner is USB-powered only and doesn’t require an external power supply. The QS2000 gives you the option to scan in visible/white light and infrared light.
The device weighs 1.7 pounds and can run on Windows® 7, Windows® 8.1, and Windows® 10. The QS2000 can read 1D and 2D barcodes (PDF 417, QRCode®, DataMatrix™, and Aztec formats) in addition to MRZ and OCR. It connects to a USB 2.0 or USB 3 high speed compatible via high speed USB 3.1 Type-C™ host port. The Device gets its power from a single USB 5000mA port. The scanner comes in at a size of 7.3″ L x 6.0″ W x 5.2″ H and has a large open document area to make front document scanning easy.
