FREE ID SCANNING TECH OFFERED TO HURRICANE IRMA RESPONDERS

IDScan.net is offering free technology to assist those involved in Hurricane Irma response efforts, including first responders, shelters, aid organizations, and volunteer groups.

The company’s VeriScan Online ID scanning application allows responders to easily collect, track and maintain information of displaced residents and response workers and volunteers.

The easy-to-use app allows designated users to scan government issued identification with the camera on a smart device, such as an iPhone. The information is collected in less than a second and stored in a secure online portal that can be accessed to inform loved ones that a person has been rescued, track displaced persons, grant or restrict access to certain areas, and manage response workers and volunteers.

IDScan.net offered this same technology for free during the historic flooding in Baton Rouge, La. that occurred in August 2016 as well as more recently during Hurricane Harvey.

The technology is easy to use, fast, works with virtually all smart devices, and does not rely on WiFi to scan, making it ideal for disaster response scenarios.

Hurricane Irma responders can use the app to search for information on people whose IDs they have scanned. Once connected to WiFi, they can access all of the information scanned by their organization using the VeriScan Online portal. They can determine if an individual has checked in at a shelter or other relief area. Multiple points of scanning can be connected so information can be shared between an organization’s different locations and between multiple organizations. Information can also be exported and shared, for example, with first responders.

The data is encrypted and stored on a secure server. Only individual response organizations using the app will have access to the data. The data will not be made public or shared by IDScan.net.

Those involved in response efforts may register for the app, VeriScan Online, for free here. In the comments section, enter “Hurricane Irma” to ensure full app functionality. Once registered, users will receive an email with further instructions.

IDScan.net is also offering Hurricane Irma responders free technical support between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. CST Monday through Friday at 888-430-8936.

IDScan.net offered this same technology for free during the historic flooding in Baton Rouge, La. that occurred in August 2016.

“The images coming out of the flood-ravaged areas are heartbreaking, and we in New Orleans know how important it is to have accurate information on people’s whereabouts in the chaotic aftermath of large scale disasters. That’s why we’re offering our solution for free,” said Denis Petrov, the CEO of IDScan.net.

The technology is easy to use, fast, works with virtually all smart devices, and does not rely on WiFi to scan, making it ideal for disaster response scenarios.

IDScan.net to Assist in Flooding Response Efforts in Louisiana

IDScan.net, a Louisiana based software company, announced today that they are offering free services to assist those in the search and rescue in Southern Louisiana and Mississippi. This includes volunteers, disaster response groups as well as law enforcement.

Their ID scanning applications give recovery response groups the ability to easily collect, track and maintain information of those displaced by the flooding who have been rescued. These applications collect the information from a government issued ID using the camera on a mobile device. They can search the application’s database by name, ID number, date and time to confirm rescue to loved ones and family members as well as share information with law enforcement. The applications can also be used to collect volunteer information.

For those involved in the rescue recovery, if you have a mobile device, you will first register for the application, VeriScan Online, here. In the comments section of the registration, please put that you are part of the disaster relief in Louisiana or Mississippi.

Once registered, you will receive an email with two logins and passwords, one is for theVeriScan Online portal, which stores the ID information and allows you to run reports, search for names, etc. The other is for the actual VeriScan Online app which you will download from the Apple App or Google Play Store. Once you have registered and downloaded the app, enter the login information provided in the email.

If response teams are using an iPad, IDScan.net recommends downloading VS Max as it gives users the ability to have customizable dropdowns and fields to easily ask and record answers to questions from those that have been rescued. Users will follow the same registration instructions mentioned above with VS Max, except they will download VS Max instead of VeriScan Online. Response teams can then change the login information by logging onto the VeriScan Online portal here and clicking on the “Settings” tab, then on “Devices” and the “Edit” button.

IDScan.net works with companies like Response Force 1 and Virginia Task Force 1 who participate in national and international disaster response missions. If you have any questions, please contact IDScan.net at 504-434-0222 or send an email to[email protected].
Thank you and be safe.
