DUI-Checkpoint

DUI Checkpoints This Friday

The Corona Police Department will be conducting DUI checkpoints this Friday at an undisclosed location.  The checkpoints will occur from 9pm to 3am.

According to local police officers, these sobriety checkpoints will be conducted more routinely to help prevent alcohol or drug involved crashes.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), checkpoints have been provided the most effective means of DUI enforcement.  The checkpoints have been proven to reduce the number of people killed and injured in crashes by 20%.

DUI checkpoints have also received extensive support by California drivers.  About 90% approve of these checkpoints.  The DUI checkpoints will specifically target locations that have high collision statistics and DUI arrests.
