4.8M Medical Cannabis Patient IDs Now Parseable Inside IDScan.net Products, Including VeriScan, Leading Dispensary ID Scanning Software
IDScan.net has announced the addition of medical marijuana cards for 19 states, accessible to VeriScan users, and customers of integration partners such as Dutchie and Blaze. Medical marijuana cards for Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Maine, Maryland, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Vermont will be available for 2D barcode validation and basic parsing beginning on November 13th.
16 US states have legalized medical use of marijuana, while recreational cannabis remains illegal. Although legalization is popular amongst both Democrats and Republicans, many expect some conservative states to continue to limit recreational use until broad, federal legalization. Deep red Oklahoma is home to 368,000 medical card holders – nearly 9% of Oklahomans; and the state boasts more than 2,000 medical dispensaries – the most in the nation. Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are also home to more than 1,000,000 medical marijuana patients.
An additional 19 states have medical marijuana programs that operate in parallel to their adult, recreational programs. Medical marijuana programs typically lower the purchase age to 18, and may have different limits on purchase amounts.
The 19 states integrated into IDScan.net products represent more than 4.8M medical cardholders. This will allow valid prescription holders to enter dispensaries and purchase products using their valid, medical marijuana card, without needing to provide their drivers license or passport.
